Receiving Flexx License Alerts

You will receive alerts if there are issues regarding your licenses.

License alerts provide information about the status of licenses that you have already installed, for example, if the license is about to expire or if you have added endpoints and exceed your license capacity.

For   v8.5.2 and on, alerts are displayed through various popups and banners:

  • 90 days before expiration: A popup alert appears, requiring acknowledgement. This will inform you that the renewal process is approaching.
  • 60 days before expiration: Another popup alert will prompt you to awknowledge the need for renewal.
  • 30 days before expiration: An alert appears on every login, along with a permanent banner notifying you of the upcoming license expiration.
  • Day 0 (license expiration): An alert and permanent banner will appear.
  • 15 days after expiration: An alert and banner will continue to display, existing policies will run without the ability to modify or create new policies.
  • 30 days after expiration: Functionality will stop completely. Policies and plugins will no longer work.

All acknowledgements are recorded on the appliance, ensuring a log of all actions taken.

You will also receive reminders, regardless of version, via email and in the console.

  • Periodic email reminders:
    • About to expire: 1, 3, 7, 14, 30 and 60 days before expiration
    • Expired/Invalid: Once a day
    • Oversubscription: Once a day, you can sign these emails using a digital certificate, as specified by the Secure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (S/MIME) standard. Refer to Signing Emails with an S/MIME Certificate in the Forescout Platform Administration Guide for details.
  • Pop-up reminders in the Console:
    • Periodic, aggregated reminders when the Console is opened, and every 24 hours after, containing all expiration-related license issues (About to expire/Expired/Invalid). Within this reminder, information about licenses that are about to expire appears starting from 45 days before expiration.
    • Oversubscription: Once a day
    • Individual reminders when a specific license becomes expired or invalid
  • An icon and tooltip on the Console status bar. The triangle is red if the license becomes invalid.
