Install the Operational Technology Plugin

Note: To install an (optional) Passive Sensor from the Passive Sensor Plugin. See Deploy Passive Sensors for more information.
Ensure that you meet the Operational Technology Plugin version requirements. For more information, go to Supported Versions and Components.

To install the Operational Technology Plugin:

  1. Navigate to the Downloads page on the Customer Support Portal.
  2. Download the .fpi file for the component. The file is named ForeScout-otsm-3.2.1-32010079.fpi.
  3. Save the file to the machine where the Console is installed.
  4. Log into the eyeSight Console and select Tools > Options from the menu.
  5. Select Modules > Install. The Open dialog box opens.
  6. Browse to and select the saved component .fpi file.
  7. Select Install. The Installation screen opens.
  8. Read the License Agreement. The installation cannot proceed unless you accept the License Agreement.
  9. After you have read the License Agreement, select I agree to the License Agreement to confirm that you have read and agree to its terms, and then select Install. The installation cannot proceed unless you agree to the License Agreement.
  10. When the installation completes, select Close to close the window. The installed component (module or plugin) is displayed in the Modules pane.
  11. Start the plugin. In Tools > Options > Modules, right-click on the component name in the Modules pane. In the menu that appears, click Start.
  12. To confirm that your installed and configured component is running, in Tools > Options > Modules, hover over the component name in the Modules pane to view a tooltip indicating whether it is running on   devices in your deployment.

Avoid Host Duplication When Installing the OT Plugin

Make sure to configure the IP Reuse Domain (IRD) mapping before the first asset sync so that hosts are created only once and already tagged correctly.

  1. Install the OT Plugin as described on this page. Do not check the Enable host information forwarding option yet.

  2. Configure the IP Reuse Domain (IRD) mapping for every connected Command Center. Map each eyeInspect IRD to the corresponding eyeSight Area Code.

  3. Save the mapping and confirm it appears correctly in all connected Command Centers.

  4. Check the Enable host information forwarding option.

  5. Verify that the first sync creates hosts with the correct IRD tag. No untagged duplicates should appear.

If you checked the Enable host information forwarding option before configuring the IP Reuse Domain (IRD) mapping, hosts are fetched and saved without an IRD tag. When you later add the mapping, a second set of tagged records is created, resulting in duplicates.
