First time access: Local authentication using a Google Identity

Here you can learn about the steps required to log in to for the first time using local authentication with a Google Identity.

To securely and efficiently manage adding and removing user access to your company's instance of Forescout Cloud, new users with a tenant hosted on the Google Cloud Platform should use a Google Identity linked to their corporate email account.

Once you complete this task to achieve initial access to the platform, Forescout recommends that you configure an IdP for SSO authentication. See Accessing Forescout Cloud for the first time for the various IdP configuration options.

Note:

You must exist as a user in Forescout Cloud, and your user email addresses must match the primary email address associated with your Google Identity.

If you do not have an existing identity with Google linked to your corporate email account as the primary email address, or a Google identity for a G Suite account, then consult Google documentation to create one.

When you have a suitable Google identity, complete the following procedure to access the Forescout Cloud Console for the first time.

  1. Depending on how your tenant is hosted by Forescout, open one of the following initial login links with you web browser:
  2. Click Google on the initial login screen.
  3. Select the Google Account that you have associated with your corporate email address, and which you provided to your Forescout customer operations representative.
  4. Enter your login password, if not already signed into Google in your browser session.
    The system will log you in to the Forescout Cloud Console.
