Set Up eyeSight Admin API User Profiles

Use this procedure to create a user that can use the API.

Don not use the 'admin' user for working with the API. Only users defined for working ONLY in the API should perform Admin API activities.
Refer also to Creating Users and User Groups for more information about Forescout user profiles.
  1. Select Tools > Options > CounterACT User Profiles, and then select Add. The Add User Profile wizard opens.
  2. In the General pane, select Single-Password from the User Type drop-down.
  3. Define the User Name and Password for this user, and then select Next.
  4. In the Permissions pane, select the Group Management and Policy Management permissions, and then select Next.
Admin API users must not be given permissions for any other Forescout functionality. They must have permissions ONLY FOR Group Management and Policy Management. You can grant API users both view and update permissions, or limit Admin API users to view-only permissions. Update permissions may be required for some API requests.
  1. In the Scope pane, select View All Hosts See Access to Forescout eyeSight Network Endpoints Scope.
